Useful Crafting Tips For Everyone
For all you hobby enthusiasts out there, here a few tips to get out of the little troubles in your work:
Ever get tired of your brushes always getting hard and stiff after you use them for paint or glue? Acrylic paint is the worst for this kind of thing because it crusts so easily. What you can do is wash your brushes after every use with a little bit of soap and warm water. In case they’ve already hardened, don’t fret. You can leave them on a cup of fabric softener and they’ll be as soft as new.
Do you paint a lot in your hobby? If so, you better place some newspaper on your work table to keep the paint from getting to places. It helps prevent the paint from staining your work table too. If you are working with really thick paints that bleed a lot, try doubling the layers to keep them from bleeding through. You can even try tripling it just to be sure.
You can take away glue stains from cloth, or from any other surface with just a bit of rubbing alcohol. The alcohol is a really good solvent for glue and easily removes it. If the glue hardened, rubbing alcohol can still remove it. So keep a bottle handy, just in case.
If you want your bottles to unscrew easily, you can try covering them up with some plastic wrap first before screwing the lid in. You’ll soon discover that this prevents your previously opened paint or glue bottles from crusting up and it will also make opening the bottles a lot less harder.
If you’re painting really small objects, try making a masking tape loop and putting it on the small eraser on a pencil. You can use the sticky tape to hold on to the small object you’re painting on and then you can use the pencil as a handle for it. If you want to dry it, just put the pencil in a pencil holder or a cup.
