Bath Salt Recipes

August 14, 2008 · Filed Under Easy Body & Bath Craft Ideas

Easy Craft Ideas brings you recipes for making scented bath salts. All you need is some sea salt or Epsom salts and essential oils. You can also colour the salts with some FD&C dyes and for fizzy bath salts use some citric acid combined with sodium bicarbonate. Epsom salts are good for aching muscles and the sea salt will soften the water. Finely ground oatmeal is also a good ingredient to further soften the water.

Always use FD&C dyes which are safe for use in foods and cosmetics. The dry dyes should be mixed with purified water, propylene glycol or glycerin USP before use. Place in a squeezable bottle that you can use to add the dye dropwise.
